Gordie Tentrees and Jaxon Haldane

Artists' websites: Gordie Tentrees / Jaxon Haldane

“This is... a man who really should be a household name, thanks to the excellence of his vocal and writing skills and his ability to create atmospheres and arrangements perfectly suited to his writing, something not all great singer songwriters are able to master.”– AMERICANA ROOTS UK 5/5

“Tentrees’ delivery is so relaxed and unpretentious it’s impossible to not get drawn into his world, sounding like a young John Prine.”– NO DEPRESSION

International touring award nominated Canadian artist Gordie Tentrees has recently released his 6th album "Broken Hero", and will be coming all the way from the far Yukon, to tour it with multi-instrumentalist Jaxon Haldane, on Banjo, Mando and Fiddle Saw.

Opening the concert is Oklahoma based, Winnipeg raised Jaxon Haldane former bandleader for legendary Canadian punk-bluegrass band the D-Rangers, performing his own songs as well as joining Gordie on banjo, mandolin, fiddle saw, and cigar box guitars.

Tentrees has been nominated for Western Canadian Music Awards, Finalist in the ISC Americana Category out of 15,000 songs, and has toured with Kelly Joe Phelps, Steve Poltz, Fred Eaglesmith, and Mary Gauthier.

Many years ago we put on his first ever show in Europe, and this will be his third performance with us in York. They are great shows, both the music and chat, and not to be missed.
