Rachael Dadd:

“…effortlessly authentic/heartfelt songwriting & next level far out musicianship. A true artist. With every LP her life experience possesses and enchants her music, stirring further its ever inspiring melting-pot of ideas.” Julian Peck, Sunday Best

Experimental folk multi-instrumentalist Rachael Dadd is touring her strongest and most impacting body of work yet. Two years in the making ‘We Resonate’ is an uplifting celebration of life and by far her most collaborative. It sees Rachael joined by Laura Marling’s sideman Marcus Hamblet, experimental Japanese multi-instrumentalist ICHI, Alessi Laurent-Marke of Alessi’s Ark, Rozi Plain, Emma Gatrill of Sons of Noel and Adrian, and Thomas Heather of Woodpecker Wooliams.

Support from Rozi Plain (with full band) and Emma Gatrill.

Bristol-based experimental folk musician Rachael Dadd is a true nomadic artist: she’s traversed the globe, all the while writing songs about her encounters, and when she’s not performing or writing, she’s sewing her own record sleeves. Rachael has played headline tours in the UK, Europe, and Japan, and has also toured in the company of David Thomas Broughton, Alessi’s Ark, Francois & The Atlas Mountains, This Is The Kit, and Rozi Plain. She’s a regular at Glastonbury, as well as having taken to the stage at End of The Road, Green Man, Wilderness, No Direction Home, Truck, and many other festivals.

Rachel is also an experienced collaborator and organiser: she co-curated The Local’s SHHH festival in Bristol; she programmed ‘Rachael Dadd and Friends’ at King’s Place – a fundraiser for Japan’s Tsunami victims; and she’s curated a group exhibition ‘DIY is all you need’ with fellow musicians and artists. Having graduated from art school with a First, Rachael is also a practicing and exhibiting artist always putting emphasis on the record sleeve and often making handmade limited editions, thinking conceptually and regularly collaborating with RCA graduate animator and sister Betsy Dadd.

Rozi Plain:

The unassuming charm of Rozi’s live show has led to tours across Europe, the UK & USA. Along the way she has traversed countries and continents together with such like-minded luminaries as Devendra Banhart, James Yorkston and Viking Moses, as well as made appearances at festivals such as Green Man and End of the Road.

“BRILLIANT... a big favourite of the show " - Lauren Laverne, BBC 6 Music.

When you first hear the sonorous, atmospheric swell of singer-songwriter Rozi Plain's home-built electric guitar coupled with her swooning vocal charm, you may as well put your hands up and surrender. You're going to be won over.

Emma Gatrill:

Emma is an unstoppable and multi-instrumental collaborator. As well as being a full time musician with the multi-tentacled psych-folk behemoth Sons of Noel and Adrian and getting crowds dancing to the rowdy stamp-along anthems of The Mariner’s Children, she has found time to lend her voice, clarinet or accordion skills to everyone from Laura Marling to Broken Social Scene.

No wonder then that it has taken her so long to get round to concentrate on her own music. Chapter I showcases poignant songs based around her latest acquisition – the harp. Subtly accompanied by various members of Brighton’s Willkommen Collective, her intricate harp playing and powerful vocals soars above her classic songwriting, which owes a debt to Bjork and Joni Mitchell as well as her friends and co-conspirators Rachael Dadd and Alessi’s Ark.

With her debut shows under her belt – a standout performance at the prestigious Willkommen Foxtrot festival, supporting Rachael Dadd on her recent European tour and now Sons of Noel and Adrian UK Tour, Emma is finally ready to give the world her own music. And it is completely worth the wait.
