Gordie Tentrees & Jaxon Haldane UK GRIT TOUR

After 600 concerts in 11 countries since coming together in 2014 including Celtic Connections (Glasgow, Scotland) and National Folk Festival (Canberra, Australia) Gordie Tentrees & Jaxon Haldane release their debut album.

A collection of songs featuring Haldane/Tentrees co-writes "Armand, Junior",  Fred Eaglesmith/ Tentrees "Craft Beards & Man Buns", a Tommy Womack/Will Kimbrough cover " I Don"t Have a Gun" as well as Willie P Bennett classic Willie's Diamond  Joe.

It was recorded with renowned engineer/producer Scott Franchuk (Corb Lund/CKUA) over 5 nights in Western Canada "live" for an audience. The idea for a live record was inspired by audience members repeatedly asking for a record that sounded like the live experience Gordie & Jaxon were producing each night. Together with 10 instruments -banjo, dobro, cigar box guitars, musical saw, acoustic guitar, porch board bass, harmonica, snare tam & mandolin, brotherly harmonies and masterful storytelling they have arrived with a combined 15 records between them.

International touring award nominated Canadian string bending song slinger Gordie Tentrees has arrived. This road poet, multi-instrumentalist, and master story teller brings the unexpected to stages across North America, Europe, Australia, UK & Ireland with 7 records behind him either solo or with legendary sideman Jaxon Haldane. From Celtic Connections (Glasgow, Scotland) to the National Folk Festival (Canberra, AU) his ability to hold an audience, weave melody, while juggling the dark with the light is infectious. His new 2018 release "GRIT" conveys character sketches  of life struggling with adversity following up his sensational 2016 release "Less is More",  which was the top 20 International Canadian album (#12).

If I had to make a comparison I would say Gordie Tentrees is a cross between Corb Lund and Stompin’ Tom Connors. Much like Corb Lund, Gordie has a writing style all his own, and much like Stompin Tom, I can imagine him playing anywhere – honky tonks, beer joints, large theaters or stadiums – and commanding the stage and crowd with his honesty, humor, and storytelling. Talent is talent, and it’s clear when it comes to songwriting, Gordie Tentrees has oodles to spare" ROOTS MUSIC CANADA
