John Smith & Modern Leper & Henry Bird - 21 April 2010

(c) photographs by Chris Priest

"Just wanted to send you both a little note to say a big thank you for hosting John Smith last night, who in my opinion was awesome! We are huge fans of John and have seen him several times but last night was definitely the best so far. I would have loved to stop and chat with him but I was afraid that I might have been struck dumb if I had tried." [H.W. 2010]

"He possesses a common name but a rare talent" - The Independent

"The playing style he adopts may cause your jaw to hit the floor…he has all the flair for the gathering storm that made Jeff Buckley so attractive...one hesitates to mention Nick Drake but well, one already has done.” – Word Magazine

"His performance was an object lesson in how taste and imagination always outweigh mere musical virtuosity...unexpected and daring" - The Sunday Times

"John Smith continually swoons audiences with his own strain of nu-folk. It is only a matter of time before he is enormous." - NME

"Too good to be true" - Rock and Reel

Modern Leper ( aka Nomad Jones)

Nomad Jones has opened shows with Badly Drawn Boy, Elbow, Stephen Fretwell, Fionn Regan, Liam Frost and Paolo Nutini. A beautiful blend of heart felt folk, Nomad has a gorgeous, pure, rich voice and a talent for lovely peals of intricately plucked guitar chords, mixed with bittersweet dreamy songs
