House Concerts - York:
 
Although very well established in America, house concerts are a relatively new concept here in the U.K. They offer a chance to see great artists who are often only over in the country for a very short time. Without all the complications of p.a. and hall hire, it means that we can work at pretty short notice.
A House Concert is a private gig for which you are sent a personal invite and is not a public music venue. This is our own home.
All donations are made before the show and people are not able to just turn up uninvited.
Once you have reserved your place by making a donation, we will send out your private invite(s), together with full details & directions.
Suggested donations are normally no more than £10.00

| Where are the concerts? |
| 10 minutes outside of York centre, although some have been held elsewhere or with venues in the city. |

| I've no transport! - help |
| There's often people driving to and from York so we can normally arrange a lift back to town for you. |

| I won't know anyone ! |
| That's a common one - but everyone's really friendly and even people who arrived on their own have felt really relaxed, and come back again and again. |

| Will I get a chance to chat with the artist? |
| Definitely, as this is one place you are virtually guaranteed to get a signed cd. |

| Do I have to stay and chat afterwards? |
| No, of course not, you can come and go whenever you like, no different from any other gig. Some people leave at the end and others stay for a chat with the artists. Completely up to you. |

| Can I take pictures, videos? |
| We always ask the artists first, but so far people have gone away with great images of the shows, many of which are now up on the artists' own web-sites. But, no flash photography during the performances please. |

| Do you make money from the shows? |
| Absolutely not - the money from the donations goes to the artists, and by the time we have provided their accommodation, food, & promoted the show we are normally out of pocket ! |

| Are they private concerts? |
| As numbers are limited attendance is by a personal invitation which you receive once you have donated in advance, to avoid no shows. You cannot just show up uninvited, but just email us if you are interested in joining the mailing list. |

| Any other house rules? |
| No stilleto heels - they mark the floors !
